Nancy Renee Evans

Hometown: Glendale, CA

College: University of Arizona 1994-1998

 

Evans played on three National Championship teams from 1994-1998 and her 124-8 career pitching record is No.1 in NCAA softball history.  She is also third-all time in wins.  

 

In her 1998 season Evans was named the NCAA player of the year (Honda Award).  

 

Evans was then hired on staff at her alma matter as pitching coach were she guided her staff to three more National Championships.  

 

After her coaching career at Arizona Evans went to coach the Dutch National Team were she help guide them to its first European Championship title in 19 years. 

 

Evans also played professionally from 1998-2005, helping Tampa Bay capture the Championship of the WPSL (Women's Professional Fastpitch League) in 1999.  She was a three time all-star in the NPF (National Professional Fastpitch) league and MVP of the 2004 all-star game.  

 

Evans has been inducted in the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame both as a player and a coach and in 2016 was named to the Pac12 All-Centruy Team.

 

In 2002, Evans' number 13 was retired at Arizona's Hillenbrand Stadium.
